AI reference

I educated myself in using AI to learn the potential benefits. For me, the only benefit was to use AI to reference my own, original work to create a reference for color, lighting, and detail. The results were impressive. AI can be a great resource – much like stock art in the 1990s and 2000s.

However, AI's horrendous global impact is ravaging resources in rural communities, contributing to deep economic, environment, and livability concerns.

Currently, I'm witnessing creative professionals – friends – being put out of work by AI. Copy writers, graphic designers, musicians, illustrators, authors, journalists, educators, and more.

Magazines, book covers, album covers, package designs, news articles, ads, blog posts, and more, all feature AI generated images, eliminating any sign of human creative support.

AI is the hot new trend. People – especially young people – are bring led to rely on it, abandoning their critical thinking, problem solving, and coping skills all to save money. People are getting lazy.

I hope it becomes tired, like every other trend and that AI is revealed as the wizard behind the curtain and corporations will migrate back to ethics and view human creativity as an investment.

I condemn AI and the companies who've chosen it over hiring skilled professionals. I worry for future generations who will embrace this technology to teach, preach, and run the world.
